Ivan graduated from MGIMO University with a bachelor's degree in international economic relations and a master's degree in management of foreign economic activities and marketing technologies.

He has worked as a project manager in the external relations department of VNIIZARUBEZHGEOLOGIA (part of the State Holding JSC Rosgeologia) and then, was involved in energy conservation and energy efficiency projects. He was also working for the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation's international technological cooperation directorate.

Since 2017, he has been working at the head office of  Norilsk Nickel as Project Manager of the Control and Analytical Department, Deputy Director of the Department for Innovative Development, and the Head of the Department for Innovative Development.

At present, he is the Head of Prospective Projects at PJSC MMC Norilsk Nickel.
