Ivan Biryuchiov

Ivan Biryuchiov is a senior consultant having 18 years’ experience in geotechnical engineering. With SRK Consulting (Russia) he has been involved in project studies of different stages (Scoping Study, Prefeasibility and Feasibility study) in a part of the geotechnical assessment of and support to project options, definition of structure elements parameters of mining systems, undertaken various assignments for geotechnical modelling, audits of numerical models; prepared recommendations for further studies and actions to controls the identified risks. He has practical experience of modelling of rock massif thaw processes when developing deposits in permafrost conditions.

Before joining SRK Consulting (Russia) he worked as a researcher for the Mining Institute of the Urals Branch of Russian Academy of Sciences. Participated in research works included ones funded by grants. Contributed to several commercial projects as a manager and executive in charge.

He has extensive experience in numerical stress modelling using the packages MIDAS GTS NX, Map 3D, Plaxis, RS2, etc.  His experience covers different UG mining methods, including the caving method.
