30 years of gold mining in Russia
During 30 years, Russia has produced >6000 t (194 Moz) of gold, including bi-product, secondary and gold in concentrates, about 10% of annual world production (3400 tons in 2020). By 2020, the total production of gold in Russia has doubled compared to 1991. At the same time, world production increased by 1.5 times. In 1991, placers provided 79.2% of 143.1 t of Russian production, and in 2020 their share was 24% (from 331.1 t). In absolute terms, production from placers decreased from 113.4 to 79.5 t. Production from hardrock deposits increased 8.5 times from 29.7 t to 251.6 t Au.
