Максим Матвеев

Maxim Matveev is a Director of Aterra Capital. He is currently a member of the Board at Silver Bear Resources (TSX:SBR).

Maxim Matveev is an investment expert with more than twenty years of experience in corporate finance and equity capital markets. At Aterra he focuses on the valuation of mining companies, interacts with stakeholders of portfolio companies to develop strategy, raise project financing, conduct corporate restructuring and progress project development.

Prior to joining Aterra Capital in 2015, Maxim was a lead metals and mining equity analyst at ING Bank, where he built up relationships with portfolio managers in major investment funds in the UK and Europe. In 2005-2008 Maxim held a Vice President position in the Corporate Finance department of Deutsche Bank, where he had extensive experience in both M&A and capital markets transactions. He contributed to the success of several landmark transactions, including $470m Globaltrans IPO (2008), $605m Polymetal IPO (2007), $1.2bn Severstal SPO (2007), $317m Raspadskaya IPO (2006). In 2000-2005 Maxim worked as an equity research analyst in Alfa Bank and was responsible for the coverage of Russian metals and mining companies.

Born in 1973. Maxim Matveev is a 1996 graduate of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, where he earned a MSc degree in Physics. He is a CFA charterholder since 2000. In 2019 he received a Diploma in Company Direction from the Institute of Directors (UK).
